Agreement to Terms

By accessing or using Unrule Academy ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you disagree with any part of these Terms, you may not access the Service.

Description of Service

Unrule Academy provides educational resources, courses, templates, and tools designed for women in UX and design. The Service includes both free resources and paid products/subscriptions.

Account Registration

To access certain features of the Service, you may be required to create an account. You agree to:

  • Provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration
  • Maintain and promptly update your account information
  • Maintain the security of your password and account
  • Notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account
  • Accept responsibility for all activities that occur under your account

Subscriptions and Payments

Billing

Some parts of the Service are billed on a subscription basis or as one-time purchases. You will be billed in advance on a recurring and periodic basis (for subscriptions) or at the time of purchase (for one-time products). Billing cycles are set either monthly or annually, depending on the subscription plan you select.

Refunds

For subscription services, you may cancel at any time. Upon cancellation, you will retain access until the end of your current billing period. No refunds will be provided for partial months or years. For one-time product purchases, refunds are provided within 14 days of purchase if you are unsatisfied with the product.

Payment Processing

All payments are processed securely through Stripe. We do not store your payment information on our servers.

Intellectual Property Rights

All content on Unrule Academy, including courses, resources, templates, text, graphics, logos, and software, is the property of Unrule Academy and is protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

License to Use

We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to:

  • Access and use the Service for your personal, non-commercial use
  • Download and use free resources and purchased products for your personal or professional use
  • Adapt templates and worksheets for your own use

Restrictions

You may not:

  • Reproduce, distribute, or resell our content without written permission
  • Share your account credentials or course access with others
  • Copy, modify, or create derivative works from our courses (beyond adapting provided templates for personal use)
  • Remove copyright or proprietary notices from our materials
  • Use our content to create competing products or services

User Conduct

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of these Terms
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service or related systems
  • Interfere with or disrupt the Service or servers
  • Impersonate any person or entity or misrepresent your affiliation with any person or entity
  • Collect or harvest any personally identifiable information from the Service

Community Guidelines

Our Discord community is governed by additional Community Guidelines. By joining the community, you agree to:

  • Treat all members with respect and dignity
  • Protect the confidentiality of conversations shared within the community
  • Refrain from spam, self-promotion, or solicitation
  • Not share others' personal information or stories outside the community
  • Not harass, bully, dismiss, or gaslight other members

Violation of Community Guidelines may result in removal from the community. Discord's Terms of Service and Community Guidelines also apply.

Consulting and Advisory Services

If you purchase consulting or advisory services from Unrule Academy:

  • Scheduling: Services must be scheduled within the timeframe specified at purchase
  • Cancellation: You may cancel or reschedule with at least 48 hours notice. Late cancellations or no-shows forfeit the session
  • Deliverables: Any written deliverables (reports, recommendations) are for your personal use only and may not be redistributed
  • Confidentiality: We maintain confidentiality of all information shared during sessions, except where required by law
  • No Guarantee: Advisory services are provided as guidance only. Results are not guaranteed and depend on your implementation

Course Access and Enrollment

Access to courses is granted upon successful payment. If payment fails or a subscription is canceled:

  • You will retain access until the end of the current billing period
  • After the billing period ends, course access will be suspended
  • Your progress and course data will be saved for 90 days in case you renew
  • After 90 days of inactive subscription, your course progress may be deleted

Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, SECURE, OR ERROR-FREE.

Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, UNRULE ACADEMY SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS OR REVENUES, WHETHER INCURRED DIRECTLY OR INDIRECTLY, OR ANY LOSS OF DATA, USE, GOODWILL, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES, RESULTING FROM YOUR ACCESS TO OR USE OF THE SERVICE.

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Unrule Academy and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including legal fees) arising out of your use of the Service or violation of these Terms.

Termination

We may terminate or suspend your account and access to the Service immediately, without prior notice or liability, for any reason, including breach of these Terms. Upon termination, your right to use the Service will immediately cease.

Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United States, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.

Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify or replace these Terms at any time. If a revision is material, we will provide at least 30 days' notice prior to any new terms taking effect. By continuing to access or use our Service after revisions become effective, you agree to be bound by the revised terms.
